Member's News

Our 2019 Best in Show Prize winning member Jenny Harmer has been very busy during Lockdown. Click on the Button below to see what she has been up to.

NOT SO GREAT NEWS

to impart regarding our Hoped For Exhibition.

Sorry to say but the

De La Warr Pavilion

has decided that the Studio, our usual exhibition space, will NOT open at all for the remainder of this year.

We have tried to find an alternative venue but to no avail. The cost and restrictions regarding attendance  make it logistically and economically unworkable.

So SORRY NO EXHIBITION in 2020.

But HEY more time to create those masterpieces for 2021

Due to the continuing uncertainty and issues on sanitising paper items and handling cash we have also decided to POSTPONE our FABULOUS RAFFLE until 2021.

If you have purchased tickets do keep them safe you could still be a winner.

Some Great News!

We have had the go-ahead from St Augustine’s Hall, and the government, to resume our meetings.

Please be aware that this may change at very short notice.

Members of the committee have visited the hall to make plans regarding seating and making sure social distancing can be adhered to and all recommended safety measures can be followed. If you do attend we do please ask that you follow the directions and advice given to you on the day.   If you have been unwell or exhibited any symptoms in the two weeks prior to a meeting please DO NOT attend.

Please use hand sanitiser on entering the Hall and we ask that you maintain social distancing throughout your time in the Hall.

The number of people in the Hall at any one time will be strictly controlled so please be patient

if we ask you to wait to gain entry.

If you are a paid up member and attend an event PLEASE bring your Membership Card with you.

Saturday September 5th

As things continue to change regarding Covid 19 more information about this meeting will be published at a later date

Bexhill

Lockdown Memories.

The idea is – members, paint, draw, craft, a subject of their choice/choices in any medium to reflect their experiences during the Lockdown.

All pieces of art to be of the same size, 4 x 4 inches, and must be able to be attached to a flat upright surface for  display to make a large

‘Lockdown Memory’ Exhibit.

This is not a competition or challenge

so there is no pressure.

It is a chance for our Members to be together although we are apart.

So just paint and have fun, then keep your artwork safe until you can hand it in and even better you’re not limited to just one piece but they must all be the same size.

Any member interested in assisting the smooth running of your society as a committee member please get in touch. Changes to the present committee make up MUST take place next year to comply with your society constitution.

It is not a taxing job and is actually quite enjoyable.

It's YOUR society to make it work we need your input.
